Astros-Marlins lineups for Friday

Welcome to Opening Day at Minute Maid Park, where the Astros (1-5) will battle the Florida Marlins (3-3) at 6:05 p.m. this evening. Houston is 10-4 against the Marlins at Minute Maid Park since 2006, its best home record against any NL opponent over that time frame.

Making the start for the Astros is left-hander Wandy Rodriguez, who is is 5-1 with a 1.59 ERA in his last 10 home starts. Ricky Nolasco (0-0, 2.57 ERA) will start for the Astros. Before we get to the lineups, here’s a photo of Minute Maid Park taken about 4 1/2 hours prior to first pitch:

ASTROS

CF Michael Bourn — Left Wednesday’s game at Cincinnati with tightness in his groin and didn’t play Thursday.

SS Angel Sanchez — Has started the first six games and hit safely in five of those.

RF Hunter Pence — Hit safely in the first two games before going hitless in his last two.

LF Carlos Lee — Already has two triples in a season for first time since 2002.

1B Brett Wallace — Went 1-for-3 with an RBI on Thursday in Cincinnati.

3B Chris Johnson — Has gone 1-for-4 in each of the last two games.

2B Bill Hall — Has three hits in 21 at-bats this year.

C J.R. Towles — Making his third start of the spring.

P Wandy Rodriguez — Owns a 62-65 career MLB record with a 4.23 ERA in 177 outings, including 168 starts.

MARLINS

CF Chris Coghlan — Tied a Marlins record with three doubles Monday vs. Washington.

2B Omar Infante — Tied for club lead with 24 hits in Grapefruit League play.

SS Hanley Ramirez — Hit .300 with 29 doubles, 21 homers and 76 RBIs last year.

1B Gaby Sanchez — Hitting .333 with runners in scoring position.

LF Logan Morrison — Two of his five hits are home runs.

3B Donnie Murphy — Had third career walkoff hit Tuesday vs. Washington.

RF Emilio Bonifacio — Played three different positions on Saturday vs. Mets.

C Brett Hayes — On Opening Day roster for first time.

P Ricky Nolasco — Is 3-1 with a 6.26 ERA in five gmaes (four starts) against the Astros.

HI there Mr McTaggart, I just wanted to say thanks for all the pictures you provided durring spring training and all the regular updates. My brothernlaw and sister has acondo down there in florida which they almost talked me into going, but he did get a few autographs for me from aneury rodriques, lance Pendleton, and the coach brad millls. Here’s hoping we have a better season then what some are predicting. Thanks again Mr.Mctaggart.
